Period lock and month-end close

Stop changes to months you have finished, and work through a month-end checklist.

Period lock

Period lock is part of the Basic plan and above. Once a period is locked, entries dated in it are refused. This covers expenses, bills and other postings, so finished months and filed VAT periods stay as they were.

When you switch to Accountive, the period up to your cut-off date is locked for you.

Month-end close

Month-end close and approvals are part of the Pro plan and above. The Finance desk dashboard shows the open month-end checklist, the review queue, lines still to review, any uncategorised balance, the period lock and the next filing.
